he course will provide advanced scientific and technical training on slope dynamics, landslide-dammed lakes, and cascading hazards in the Andes, bringing together leading experts and early-career researchers working on natural hazards and disaster risk management.

Course highlights

Participants will benefit from:

  • Keynote lectures delivered by international experts;
  • A specialized seminar on natural dams, slope stability and hydrology;
  • A practical workshop on hazard modelling and dam-breach scenarios;
  • A field excursion in the Mendoza region.

Who should apply?

The course is designed for:

  • PhD students;
  • Early-career researchers;
  • Professionals working in geosciences, civil engineering, hydrology, remote sensing, GIS, and disaster risk management.

Travel grants

Travel grants are available for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and early-career researchers.

Thematic areas

The course will address topics including:

  • Natural hazards;
  • Debris flows;
  • Outburst floods;
  • Remote sensing and GIS.

Registration
