MESO25, the Eleventh International Conference on the Mesolithic in Europe, will take place in Ferrara (Italy) from 15th to 19th September 2025.

For the first time, the MESO Conference is held in Italy and organised by the Section of Prehistoric and Anthropological Sciences of the Department of Human Studies, University of Ferrara.

The University of Ferrara boasts an internationally known tradition in Mesolithic studies and research. For this reason, the University is glad to offer the chance for researchers, scholars and professionals from any country involved in the study of the Mesolithic to gather and discuss the most recent scientific updates and methodological approaches.

The proposed sessions will cover all aspects of Mesolithic archaeology, from the traditional field of material culture analysis to the innovative contributions of new methodologies.

The planned excursions will allow participants the chance to discover part of the rich Mesolithic heritage of Italy, a hinge region between central Europe and the Mediterranean world.
