Due to the Corona situation the summer school can not take place in May and will likely be postponed until spring 2021.

The International Summer School on Glacial Megaflood Landforms and
Sediments is dedicated to PhD students and early career researchers
whose research are related with the Quaternary geology and glacial
geomorphology. The School focuses on the Late Pleistocene glacial
megaflood-related landforms and sediments and is based on lectures and
discussions during the field trips and courses. Post-school publications
in an international periodical journal on Earth sciences are expected,
and details will be given in the 2nd circular.
Program outline:
Day 1. Opening ceremony and introductory lecture.
Day 2. Preliminary lecture, keynote lectures, participant presentations.Day 3. Field trip and courses: landforms and sediments of subglacial megafloods. Poster session.
Day 4. Field trip and courses: megaflood-related proglacial landforms and sediments.
Day 5. Final lecture. Closing ceremony and departure from SuwaĆki.
Registration fee (covering workshop materials, overnights, full-board catering, conference dinner and two field trips):
