International Union For Quaternary Research (INQUA) statement on the Ukrainian crisis

The INQUA Executive Board condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the military invasion of the Ukraine by the Russian Federation. This conflict is generating a grave humanitarian crisis that is worsening daily. INQUA stands with the people of Ukraine and calls on Russian invaders to cease immediately their brutal, inhumane and unprovoked violence.

INQUA acknowledges the major contribution of both Ukrainian and Russian scientists to the international Quaternary community. However, the Association is appalled by the current invasion and war crimes by the forces of the Russian Federation. In solidarity with scientific organisations worldwide, INQUA is suspending all collaborations with scientific institutions and organisations of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus until further notice.
