Conference on Past Plant Diversity Changes
Plant diversity in relation to climate variability, refugia, genetic diversity and species range and diversity prediction.
Dates
Oct 1st - 5th, 2018
Venue
Institut Scientifique, (Morocco)
Summary
The objective of this conference is to bring together scientists from divergent but complementary disciplines to discuss past plant diversity in relation to climate variability, species persistence in refugia and its impacts on genetic diversity, and how we can better understand past changes to predict more confidently future species ranges and diversity.
The reconstruction and modeling of past climate change is central to the discussion of the drivers of past climates, key to understanding their effects on plant distributions, and fundamental to using past changes in diversity to inform ongoing conservation planning. Thus, addressing the factors that influence the pattern and velocity of past climate change will form the backbone session of the Rabat conference. We hope that you will participate in what is certainly to be a lively and stimulating meeting.
The deadline for abstract submission is fast approaching, June 30, 2018, so now is the time to compose your abstract and register.
